Citadel Woods
I got two kits on eBay and put this together, plus a couple of extras that I did'nt photograph. It was pretty straight forward, lots of dry brushing. I want to be able to have a dead woods so I magnetized the trees and foliage to give me the options of including the leaves of not. It worked out quite well.

Dwarfs - Distractions from my Dark Elf Army
Well I needed a break from painting Dark Elves, after putting my armies on parade board together and turned my attention to a few dwarfs that I had kicking about. One thing led to another and over the past couple of months I have been able to paint a good 2000pts to gaming standard.
So for your viewing pleasure I post my progress so far. Most of the army came from the Battle for Skull Pass box set and a number of bits I was able to scrap together. I few conversions took place and I was also able to scratch build a nice size airship out of some odds and ends. I still have a few more units to paint and hope to have them finished soon.

Drow Themed Dark Elves Army
It has been a while since my last post and after some time working on the dwarfs I really wanted to get back to my dark elves, but this time wanted to try something different. I have loved the Forgotten Realms books as a kid and decided that I would like to do a Drow themed Warhammer army. I have spent a bit of time looking around the web for some inspiration but have not been able to find a complete army - so thus my adventure begins.
I have come up with a number of units I would like to see in my army, including plenty of spiders, driders etc but to get the ball rolling I thought I would start with this unit of Witch Elves or as I prefer to call them my Handmaidens of the Spider Queen.
Stay tuned for more posts as I progress with this army!

Drow Spider Riders / Dark Rider Conversion
So making progress on this army... have just finished a unit of 10 Spider Riders. These will proxy for Dark Riders in the army. This was a good challenge trying to get the spiders to rank up, I separated the legs on a few of them and staggered them out rather than having them side by side to make the unit look more dynamic.

Drow Militant Myrlochar - Order of Soul Spiders (Dark Elf Corsairs)
I have started my core ground troops, here is the first unit of three I plan to do. Still finding it a challenge to be working with such a dark palette, but think I have now settled on the colour scheme to carry through the rest of the army. I am also finding the new basing method a challenge - use to just dropping static grass on the model at the end, getting the GW technical paint to work how I want is proving difficult.

Drow Drider Conversions (Doomfire Warlocks)
I'm starting to make progress and it's slowly coming together now and looking like an army. My latest edition for your viewing pleasure is two converted units of Driders. These will act as a proxy for my Doomfire Warlocks in the army. This unit was a challenge to make, had to put my greenstuff skills to work (not my strong point). I am quite happy how they have turned out.

A couple of quick updates on my Drow army
Back to finishing my Drow army and I have managed to knock out a few more Champion models.
Firstly a quick kit bash, my conversion of Drizzt DoUrden. I had a few bits kicking about and thought what is a Drow army without this fine character. I can proxy him for a Hero or Lord.
High Priestess of Lolth - can't remember where I got this model from, works as a nice Death Hag for the army.
Finally, meet the Illithad, the Mind Flayer. Nice simple conversion, I borrowed the idea from somewhere else on the web I saw on another forum.

Drow Warhammer Army
Finally here is the finished army - there is only one model left that I have to paint and that is a beholder, but the one I got I think is to big for the army, so it's back to the drawing board.
I'm quite happy how this came together, perhaps one day I will add some more units to it, but for the time being I have some other projects to get on with.
